Edge profile – Semi-circular – and back wall profile – 243cm to create a sleek cast-in-place worktop.
Close the kitchen cabinets with a 12.5mm cement fiber board (For example Knauf Aquapanel or similar). The board must be kept level with the front of the cabinets. Use silicone or polymer sealant to secure the plate to the cabinets. Then screw the profiles to the cement fiber board with a 20mm pan head screw. After the concrete has hardened, the profile can be broken off along the breaking line and a nice, sleek leading edge is created.
To save weight and the amount of concrete required, non-load-bearing parts of the top can be filled with XPS foam (Styrodur, Roofmate). Use in combination with high quality GFRC concrete.
