Edge profile – “Fancy” and Back Wall Profile – 243cm to create a tight cast-in-place countertop.
Close the kitchen cabinets with a 12.5mm cement fibreboard (for example Knauf Aquapanel or similar). The board must be kept level with the front of the cabinets. Use silicone or polymer sealant to secure the board to the cabinets.
Then screw the profiles to the cement fibreboard with a 20mm pan head screw. After the concrete has hardened, the profile can be broken off along the breaking line and a nice tight front edge is created. To save weight and the required amount of concrete, non-load-bearing parts of the top can be filled with XPS foam (Styrodur, Roofmate). Use in combination with a high quality GFRC concrete.
